Updates: Winter 26

Ben Wingrove ·

A few big milestones for Socket since launching back in April. We're rapidly closing in on 700,000 questions answered on the platform, and with that have seen a 90% pass rate across all four exam types. You guys are getting some seriously good work done.

While you've been studying, I've been on the tools, splitting my time between adding fresh content and building new features. This is the first major update since April, and I'm excited to share it with you.

Dark Mode: Study Comfortably Day or Night

A moon icon now sits in the navbar (on every page once you're logged in) and toggles between light and dark presentation of the platform. Handy for late-night sessions and those last few questions before bed.

Exam Mode: Practise Under Timed Conditions

A slider icon to the right of the question count switches Exam Mode on. This allows you to answer questions without seeing the solution immediately, and set a time limit for the session. It's built for practising to time in the final weeks before your exam, where pacing matters as much as knowledge.

Search Function: Build Sessions by Keyword

A text box below the Start Review / Exam button on the Review page lets you build a session by keyword rather than pre-set categories. Handy when you want to drill a specific topic rather than a whole category.

Filter by Domain (ACEM Primary): Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology & Pharmacology

A secondary filter for ACEM Primary content lets you select questions by knowledge domain. Stack it on top of your existing filters to drill into specific areas of the ACEM Primary exam with much more precision.

Learning Issues: A Cleaner, Faster Review View

A UI overhaul presents your Learning Issues as a compact checklist that collapses neatly to the right of the Review page. Where a learning issue is tied to a specific question, you can now open and review that question directly by clicking the sticky note icon on the right of the tile.

Built From Your Feedback

Every change here has been informed by users. All development on the platform is done with your learning experience in mind, so if there's something missing that would level up your study, let me know. Really hope you enjoy it. Happy studying.
